Las Vegas has become a modern mecca for shopping. From the multitude
of tiny and large souvenier shops stretching from downtown to the
strip
(which we won't even begin to list here as you'll have no trouble
finding them on your own), to the numerous plazas, shopping malls,
antique shops and specialty stores across town, if you can't find
what you're looking for here, you probably don't need it!
Shopping on the Strip
Belz Factory Outlet World
7400 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
Las Vegas NV 89123
(702) 896-5599
If it's bargains on shoes or housewares you're looking for, Belz
is where you'll find them. The outlet mall has 12 stores devoted
exclusively to the home.
The newest, Dansk, located in the shopping annex, offers high-end
tableware and cutlery at a budget-friendly price.
Desert Passage at the Aladdin
3667 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
Las Vegas NV 89109
(888) 800-8284
The Desert Passage is the jewel in the crown of Las Vegas shopping.
With more than 130 stores and 14 restaurants,
the mall has something for everybody (and every price range).
Fashion Show
3200 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
Las Vegas NV 89109
(702) 369-8382
The best thing about the Fashion Show mall is its location. Nestled
between Treasure Island and the Frontier, and a stone's throw from
the convention center,
Fashion Show is just another stop for curious sightseers. There's
really no reason to go out of your way to visit the mall unless
you're down on the Strip anyway --
the stores are pretty much the same as elsewhere in Vegas, with
the exception of Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue, both of which
are worth venturing into.
Forum Shops at Caesars Palace
3570 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
Las Vegas NV 89109
(702) 731-7110
(800) CAESARS
The Forum Shops has the best selection of shops in Vegas. Here you'll
find everything from famous designers such as Ann Taylor, Hugo Boss
and Bernini to
popular favorites Diesel, Guess and Banana Republic.
What sets the Forum Shops apart, however, is its specialty shops.
Lalique offers gorgeous crystal bowls, vases and platters. Although
expensive,
the pieces are stunning. The rhinestone-studded shoes at Stuart
Weitzman, with handbags to match, are the perfect complement to
the most
elegant evening wear. And Estee Lauder's gold compacts, porcelain
boxes and trinkets are relatively inexpensive and make nice gift
items.
Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian
3355 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
Las Vegas NV 89109
(702) 414-4500
(888) 283-6423
With a painted fresco overhead, spacious walkways and a gondola-laden
canal, the Venetian provides the perfect ambience for shopping.
Using the canal as a guide, patrons sweep along twists and turns,
with plenty to browse along the journey. The strolling juggler and
the opera trio,
dressed in regal opulence, keep all entertained. And the human statue
stationed in St. Mark's Square's and the Oculus provides plenty
of amusement.
Le Boulevard at Paris
3645 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
Las Vegas NV 89109
(702) 739-4111
(888) 266-5687
Le Boulevard is tres European. From the brass lamps to the cobblestone
"streets" to the small, intimate boutiques, Paris is alive
and well in Las Vegas.
Showcase Mall
3785 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
Las Vegas NV 89109
(702) 597-3122
Just a hop, skip and a jump from the MGM Grand, this entertainment
and retail complex combines great shopping (Sephora) with good eating
(M & M's World, Ethel M.) with fun and games (United Artists,
Gameworks). The multi-level mall, which never seems at a loss for
foot traffic,
is very family-friendly, and it's proximity to MGM, Monte Carlo,
New York-New York and their south-Strip neighbors make it a tourist's
dream.
Via Bellagio
3600 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
Las Vegas NV 89109
(702) 693-7111
(888) 987-6667
Via Bellagio, the shopping arcade at the Bellagio hotel-casino,
is luxury at its finest. To call it expensive would be an understatement
-
you could plunk down a year's salary in less than an hour, no matter
what you make. But if you're looking to do some high-end shopping
(or just observe it), the Bellagio is the place to go.
Shopping off the Strip
Boulevard mall
3528 S. Maryland Pkwy.
Las Vegas NV 89109
(702) 732-8949
With 1.2 million square feet of retail space and more than 170 shops,
restaurants and carts, The Boulevard mall lives up to its claim
of
being "Nevada's Largest Mall." The mall has so many stores
that it easily could be cluttered, but it's quite the opposite.
The design is modern
and functional, with block lettering in a simple, clean style. The
walkways are adorned with palms, and it really does feel like you
are walking down a boulevard -
but not one in Vegas! The Boulevard mall is where you go when you
want to do some serious shopping.
Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas
32100 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
Primm NV 89019
(702) 874-1400
Whoever designed the Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas was a genius.
The mall is built like a sports arena, with multiple entrances into
the circular structure.
The outlet stores are situated on an inside and outside ring, making
for ease of shopping (and happy feet) -- no more tired treks back
to the beginning.
Galleria at Sunset
1300 W. Sunset Road
Henderson NV 89014
(702) 434-0202
At first glance, this mall looks mammoth; it rises like a behemoth
from the desert sands. Once inside, it’s more manageable -
bright and spacious, with plenty of room to walk. If you’re
looking for a particular store, however, you’d be wise to
check the mall guide.
It’s easy to wander around in frustration when the store you
wanted was actually two back from your starting point.
Meadows Mall
4300 Meadows Lane
Las Vegas NV 89107
(702) 878-4849
Meadows Mall is a run-of-the-mill shopping center, with old stand-bys
such as JC Penney and Macy's as well as specialty stores such as
Lemstone Books and Hiland's Gifts. There's something for every budget.
